Donald Driver Wins Mirror Ball on Dancing With the Stars + Review of Entire Finale by Miss Disilgold
Donald Driver, Green Bay Packers wide receiver, notorious for his 90 yard dash bringing a win to his team and beating the pulp out of the New York Giants for a Superbowl, won Dancing With the Stars finals along with his partner, Peta Murgatroyd.
Three reasons why he won clearly was due to his impeccable physique and agility. Then Donald Driver ripped off his shirt vest and draped it over judge Carrie Ann Inaba. At first, it seemed like a taboo move, but so charming it helped peak his performance. He also, had a solid dance partner whom he exhibited confidence during all of the lifts. You could tell Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd were comfortable with each other.
What was particularly wonderful about Dancing With the Stars this season was the fairness of the judging. All last 3 remaining dance contestant partners were outstanding and it was a relief to see all score a perfect 10. No one minded any of the three remaining contestants winning.Kathy Jenkins, an opera/classic singer with the most amazing voice gave the performance of a life time along with one of our fav DWTS dancers, Mark Ballas who is beyond a professional dancer by now. He sor tof out danced his partner which could have cost him at the end.
The two certainly raised the standard of DWTS, however, and Judge Carrie Ann Inaba stated this as well calling Kathy the ‘complete package.’ She carried her loss with grace which made her a winner. Latin dancer and heartthrob, William Levy may have shown ‘blank stare’ disappointment in disbelief that he lost being that he was the favorite of the entire season, but he didn’t break a tear. He has an outstanding future in film and modeling. I believe he appeared in a video with Jennifer Lopez and is a classic rags to riches guy. just like Donald Driver who was once homeless.
However, what gave Donald Driver that cutting edge win was his freestyle which was simply ‘ extraterrestrial’. Donald Driver is a perfect creature not from this world and the man of the night who made everyone proud for his over all tenacity. To win a competition like Dancing With the Stars you have to literally line drive to the very end like many sports players and athletes of DWTS competitions have done. What seemed like a show that might take a nose dive this season due to confrontations between judges and mainstay dancers like Max, turned out to be one of the TOp 5 tv shows of its kind of tv this season along with X Factor, The Voice, American Idol and America’s Got Talent .
To see stars from yesteryear you remember as a kid from Melissa Gilbert ( Who played Laura Ingalls in Little House and the Praire) , Jaleel White (Who almost dropped his partner while dancing to Isaac Hayes SHAFT) , Jack Wagner (Cisco from the soap operas) and Gladys Knight ( Off Gladys Knight and the Pips) still doing their thing is over all, one of the greatest vibes on tv.
You also, got to learn about some new unknowns. This season’s votes by the public certainly called the best winning team of the night for over all showmanship. Even if Donald Driver kept his shirt on and did not woo one of the judges, the fact is he wowed one of the toughest and respected judges on air people may love to hate, but he’s usually right…..you should know his name!
Upon appearing on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show, Donald Driver expressed that winning the Mirror Ball may not be as big as winning the Super Bowl, but he was glad that his partner, Peta won with him. Peta was asked how did she feel about working with Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) a year ago and she compared the two to night and day.
Jimmy Kimmel certainly brought out the most honest interview answers of the year. And just as I wondered if Donald Driver would be asked if he would create another touch down dance, Donald Driver said he would gain the expertise of Peta to do just that for next SuperBowl. You can’t beat this man’s confidence as a role model for all. This was by far Dancing With the Stars best season of the show.
